Background and industry experience

David has been in the industry for over 25 years, originally with John German, then Germans and now Fisher German with his role as Head of the Rural Consultancy Sector, which entails its development, delivery and growth throughout the Fisher German network.

David's own client work focuses primarily on estate management in consultancy roles involving in excess of 100,000 acres throughout the UK providing specialist, innovative and entrepreneurial advice to both private, plc and charity clients. This advice ranges from estate reorganisation, structures and efficiencies through to sales and acquisition and everything else that forms part of advising clients with property.

In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, he is appointed as both a Trustee and Director of a number of portfolios and companies where his experience adds value. He also sits on the Derbyshire CLA Committee, having been its Chairman previously for four years.

Originally from Devon, David moved to the business in 1990 and lives in South Derbyshire with his wife, who is also involved in property, and two children. When the demands of family life allow, he enjoys all aspects of rural pursuits and sport generally.

I joined what was John German at the time in September 1990

Why did you join Fisher German?
From my first interview I was generally impressed by the warm reception I received from those I met and was particularly inspired by my former boss and senior partner of the time, John Monier Williams

What has been your favourite project and why?
Any form of opportunity to win work and see an angle as to how an instruction can be secured, however big or small, always gives me a buzz

Top pastime?
Perhaps sadly in the eyes of many, but I love my job and the clients I work with and this inspires me every day

Best holiday destination?
The Algarve I love, whether it is for a family holiday or playing golf

Who would you like to be stranded in a lift with?
Stuart Flint - out of anybody who was going to make fun of it and regale outrageous stories, it would be him

Favourite film?
There are so many, it would be unfair to choose one
